9T Labs to showcase composites AM aerospace capabilities at JEC World

Stay up to date with everything that is happening in the wonderful world of AM via our LinkedIn community.

9T Labs, specialists in digital, automated, cost-competitive series production of continuous fiber components, will be demonstrating how lightweight carbon parts are ideal for cabin components of aircraft, including structural components such as brackets, harnesses, and sensor mounts, at JEC World 2022, now taking place in Paris from the 3rd to the 5th of May 2022.

JEC Group decided to postpone the 2022 edition of JEC World, originally scheduled for March, to ensure optimal conditions for the show that has now become a key date for companies that operate in AM of composites. AM has also become an increasingly relevant technology for automating composites parts production. The event brings together all major global companies as well as innovative startups in the field of composites and advanced materials, experts, academics, scientists, and R&D leaders. JEC World is also the “festival of composites”, offering a unique showcase of what composites can offer to various application sectors, from aerospace to marine, from construction to automotive, and an unlimited source of inspiration for participants from these industries.

9T Labs to showcase composites AM aerospace capabilities at JEC World demonstrating lightweight parts for cabin components Aerospace parts have to be manufactured to meet the most extreme environmental conditions. 9T Labs’ build and fusion modules produce high-performance composites in high volumes by taking advantage of fast production cycles, favorable processability of thermoplastic composites and low material waste, allowing the replacement of metal parts. This manufacturing method offers aerospace manufacturers the ability to increase the buy-to-fly ratio.

The team at 9T Labs will be available in Hall 5, Stand Q8, to discuss how additive manufacturing of fibre-reinforced parts is much more accessible than using conventional methods and to reveal how aerospace industry leaders are already adopting 3D printing to fabricate tools, fixtures, and prototypes. 9T Labs is driving the definition of new standards and certifications to increase industry adoption for end-use parts.

In addition, a helicopter door hinge, a Boeing aerospace bracket and an aeroplane strut, will all be on display, highlighting 9T Labs’ unique ability to employ the most advanced structures, materials and technologies at scale.

“We are fully dedicated to supporting the composites industry and to fostering its development via our events and media activities. Exhibitors and partners are strongly supporting JEC World, their leading event and want to meet in person in 2022 to activate business, share knowledge and highlight innovations. Postponing from March to May is a way to offer improved conditions to satisfy the industry requirements for such a trade fair as JEC World”, said Eric Pierrejean, CEO of JEC Group.
