e-NABLECON Global Conference
The first annual e-NABLE Community Conference, also known as e-NABLECON, took place in 2014, and has been continuing each year since, though obviously this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s gone to a virtual format. It’s also free to attend the online sessions of the 2020 e-NABLECON, called “The State of Science, Technology and Our Community,” through a freewill donation is requested. Sessions take place this weekend—October 17th and 18th—and next weekend, the 24th and 25th. The times of all the sessions on each day are listed in Eastern Time, and once you register for a specific day, or days, of sessions, you’ll receive a meeting link and confirmation via email.
Each day will begin with Zoom breakout/interactive controls practice, followed by opening remarks, an opening address, and a keynote address. Then, there will be some combination of games, roundtables, presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and more. The theme of the sessions on the 17th is “Devices, Making and the FDA,” and begins at 9:50 am. Day 2, on the 18th, is “Pandemic and Disaster Response,” and kicks off at 12:50 pm. Day 3 will be next weekend, the 24th, “Sustainability, Education, Research, and Demonstrations Using On- Line Resources,” and e-NABLECON 2020 will end on the 25th with “Community Building.”
GE Additive Webinar Wednesday: REJOINT on EBM Technology
GE Additive’s Webinar Wednesday series continues this Wednesday, October 21st, with a session entitled “How REJOINT is using EBM technology to push the envelope in orthopedics.” Italy-based medical device company REJOINT specializes in Total Knee Arthroplasty surgeries, and uses GE’s Arcam EBM technology to make patient-specific implants. During the webinar, REJOINT founder Dr. Gian Guido Riva and REJOINT engineer Dr. Carolina Eleonora Lavecchia, will talk with GE Additive’s Senior Sales Director Fausto Asvisio about how the company is using EBM to improve its patient outcomes, as well as to help push the medical industry to new heights of technology adoption.
“Additive manufacturing is disrupting a variety of industries and revolutionizing the way parts are made. The orthopedics industry has been leading the way in applying additive technology, from off-the-shelf implants to patient-specific solutions. REJOINT is using Electron Beam Melting (EBM) technology to change the game in orthopedics, focusing on new patient needs and offering a truly personalized treatment, including cost-effective personalized implants that can be designed and manufactured in just weeks.”
The webinar will take place at 10 am EST, and you can register for it here.
