Additive Industries, Eindhoven, the Netherlands, has supplied a MetalFAB1 Additive Manufacturing system to the Marine Equipment Technology Institute (METI) of Jiangsu University of Science and Technology in Zhenjiang, China. The handover took place during a ceremony at the Additive Manufacturing centre of METI.

The installation of the MetalFAB1 AM system, currently said to be used globally by customers in the aeronautics, space and high-performance automotive industries, will allow METI to accelerate its production of heat exchangers for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and other maritime, oil and gas applications.

“We are grateful to welcome METI as a leading partner in marine technology,” stated Mike Goh, General Manager of Additive Industries Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. “Not only are they a frontrunner in marine applications but also a visionary in Additive Manufacturing by being the first in China to own a MetalFAB1 system. The system will be used also for research but mainly to transfer their innovative heat exchanger technology to series production.”

“The handover ceremony has demonstrated the importance of our collaboration and business friendship, the involvement of both our Governors and the Mayor of Eindhoven further forged our relationship and creates a solid basis for the future,” reported Daan Kersten, CEO of Additive Industries.
