CIDEAS invests in EOS 3D printing technology for large thermoplastic parts

CIDEAS, an Illinois-based additive manufacturing service provider, has added two EOS P770 Selective Laser Sintering to its repertoire.

The company has been in operation since 1998, continually growing its portfolio of 3D printing hardware to include SLA, FDM, DLS, Polyjet, and SLS, as well as offering urethane casting, part finishing, and design and engineering services.

It has sought to bring in the two EOS P770 platforms to enhance its range of powder bed fusion systems in line with an increased requirement for components additively manufactured in materials like Nylon. The EOS P770 has been designed to facilitate the production of large parts with its 700 x 380 x 580 mm build volume, and with dual laser capability, do so efficiently.

CIDEAS serves companies within a host of vertical markets, including aerospace, healthcare, and consumer products, and has its disposal more than 30 machines and 50 materials. It works with its customers to manufacture engines, anatomical models, architectural models, amongst other things, and expects that service to be enhanced with the integration of two EOS P770 machines.
