The Australian Manufacturing Technology Institute Limited (AMTIL) has announced a new conference on Additive Manufacturing to be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC), Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, from May 14–15, 2019. The UNLIMIT3D conference will be held alongside Austech, Australia’s advanced manufacturing and machine tool exhibition, running at the MCEC from May 14–17, which will also feature a dedicated AM Pavilion.
The UNLIMIT3D conference will focus on the industrialisation of Additive Manufacturing, featuring expert speakers who have implemented this technology in real-world production. Their experiences and insights, the challenges they have faced, and the benefits of applying Additive Manufacturing will be explored, and delegates will be able to hear first-hand the challenges of innovating in this space from companies that can offer practical examples.
The keynote opening address will be given by Rob Gorham, Executive Director of America Makes, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute at the US’s National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining. Having previously served as Senior Manager of the Manufacturing Exploration and Development Group at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, Gorham has a lot of experience in the application of AM in advanced manufacturing processes.
Shane Infanti, CEO of AMTIL, stated, “3D printing is a game changer. This conference will assist local companies to innovate, become more productive and excel in future industries. A further opportunity exists post-conference to engage with renowned international experts, who will hold workshop sessions in the week following the Austech exhibition.”
UNLIMIT3D is sponsored by Syspro and the Additive Manufacturing Hub, which aim provide an industry-driven collaborative network of organisations that will foster and grow the Additive Manufacturing sector. The AM Hub is led by AMTIL and supported by the Victorian Government.
